The Quick Mill Carola Evo is a single-boiler espresso machine designed for users who want a compact unit focused solely on espresso preparation. With no steam system, the design emphasizes stable brewing temperatures and straightforward operation. Its stainless steel exterior is approximately 2 mm thick and contributes to a sturdy build suitable for daily home use. Measuring 13.75 inches in height, 7.75 inches in width, and 15.5 inches in depth, the Carola Evo fits easily into a variety of kitchen spaces.

2021 Design Updates

Several functional updates were introduced in the 2021 revision of the Carola Evo, including:

• Boiler drain accessible from outside the machine

• Updated yellow heating indicator light

• On/off power switch replacing the previous three-position switch

• Revised low-water alert system; the machine becomes inoperable when the reservoir is empty and displays an "A" code on the PID

• Updated expansion valve placement

PID Temperature Control

As of April 2020, the Carola Evo includes a PID controller for improved management of brew temperature. The 0.75-liter insulated T.E.A.-coated brass boiler is designed for thermal stability during extraction. The PID display also includes a shot timer, offering time-based feedback during brewing.

Auto-Off Timer

The Carola Evo features an Eco timer that turns off the heating circuit after a user-defined period of inactivity. The auto-off interval can be set from 10 minutes up to 240 minutes.

E61 Group Head

The machine uses an E61 group head, which is known for stable thermal characteristics supported by a thermosyphon circulation system. The standardized design allows for compatibility with many espresso accessories.

Stainless Steel Mushroom and Gicleur

The Carola Evo incorporates stainless steel versions of the mushroom and gicleur components within the E61 group. These materials are selected for durability and ease of long-term maintenance.

Operation

The machine begins by filling the boiler automatically upon startup. The insulated boiler and PID regulation maintain a steady brewing temperature during use. A 52-watt Ulka vibratory pump with pulsation-control components operates at a relatively low noise level and includes thermal overload protection.

Pump Pressure Adjustment

Pump pressure can be adjusted through the expansion valve located beneath the removable cup-warming tray. Users may make adjustments using a backflush disk and a flathead screwdriver to rotate the valve in small increments.
